Why I Love My Office's Kitchen - April 2008 -Episode 1

Because of all the goodies that we get!!

A patient brought these for us...these are THE BEST cupcakes I have ever had. Period.


I'm simple when it comes to cupcakes. I like vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. My coworker Halle and I agree that whipped frosting is better than buttercream. =) I LOVE the frosting on this cupcake. Light, airy, and perfectly sweet. I hate how stiff and hard buttercream gets, and this was just OhHhHhHhHhHhHhHhHhHhHhHhHh...


Look at it, I'm serious, look at it. It's like a CLOUD of goodness. I do have to say, though, that the other cupcakes did not impress me. The chocolate with raspberry frosting was too dry. I didn't try the others, but I was perfectly happy with my vanilla on vanilla. =)




One of our nurses brings goodies from Boulange...and thank God for him the wind beneath my wings. I get excited like a dog in heat whenever I see this box...


Chorizo Quiche. Yeah. Enough said.


Crust. Buttery. Perfect. Egg. Light. Chorizo. Meaty. Me. Happy.


The other varieties include bacon with peas and vegetable.




A patient brought this in and it is truly GORGEOUS. Too pretty to eat, but we ate it all anyway!


Another patient brought these goodies and I was in for a delight.


Fancy cookies. I didn't have one, but one of my doctor's did and he enjoyed it very much. In fact, he said, "These are my favorites." Awesome blossom.


Fruit tarts, eclaires, chocolate tartlettes, puff pastry, PRINCESS CAKE. See that green cake with the cream and raspberry going through it? OMG BECKY. That cake is BOMB. I usually do not like raspberry, but this is an exception. Remarkable array of desserts.


Popcorn. I know, it's "just" popcorn, but the point I am making here is that my patients are the greatest people in the world. I love my patients so much!!! The patient who brought the popcorn is my "Tita" (aunt in Filipino), not blood-aunt, but someone who I love and enjoy seeing whenever she comes in.


Harvey Wallbanger cake. For those who do not know what a "Harvey Wallbanger" cocktail is, it's basically an alcoholic beverage made with vodka, Galliano, and orange juice. Our patient got up at 5 in the morning to make this cake for us, and you all should know how much I love orange, so I LOVED THIS CAKE. So moist and perfectly flavored that I almost got drunk off how good it was. All the vodka probably evaporated out while baking, but man, this was so good.


OKAY OKAY, not from the kitchen, but this is my guilty pleasure. Massaging back rest. I'm short, so my legs do not touch the ground if I sit all the way back, so I got this and it made everything feel better. =)

I LOVE MY OFFICE. The coworkers. The patients. The treats. The satisfaction of knowing I'm helping how humanity in some way. I love it ALL. =)
