Friday Favorite of the Week - Chapter 17 - My First Cheesecake!
Last weekend, I was playing around in the kitchen and found out that I had everything I needed for cheesecake. So I made little mini cheesecake cups with a Nutella and white chocolate swirl on top. They were a hit at my house. I was honestly surprised that I pulled it off because prior to this, the only way I made cheesecake was with the no-bake stuff. I actually made it from scratch! *gasp* SOOOO, yesterday, I was walking around Westfield Centre in SF and I just had the urge to make another cheesecake, but a full-sized one. =) Here is how it looked like:

Okay, so I didn't use a cheesecake/springform pan...mainly because I haven't bought one yet. So I saw what was available in my kitche. I thought I had a cake or pie pan, but couldn't find them. Then I found this pan which I use for Grace's Peach Float and brownies. It worked!
I made the base and then swirled in some caramel. I then put the cheesecake base on a graham cracker-chocolate cookie crust, which my sister loved. On one half, I stuck in some Pecan Pie Glazed Pecans and the other I swirled in Ghirardelli chocolate.
I haven't had any yet because I made it fairly late at night...I pulled it out of the oven at 11 p.m. HA! I put it in the fridge after it cooled a bit and it should be ready for consumption when I get home.
I cannot wait!
